Union leaders and Management of BAT Working together for Decent Workplace

Bangladesh Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Foundation (OSHE) the national collaborating center of CIS-ILO (www.ilo.org/cis) organized a special joint seminar on International Labour Standards and Labour Law on Occupational Health and Safety at British American Tobacco (BAT) Factory at DOHS, Dhaka on 20 November 2006 for the key union leaders and management officials of BAT.

The objective of the seminar were to develop knowledge of BAT participants on decent work, international standards and new rules on occupational safety and health and Sensitize and motivate for work together on safe work place issue.

20 union officials, department heads and management officials said seminar in occasion of BAT Occupational Safety Week -2006. The seminar was moderated by Dr. Syeed Ahmed from the side of BAT.

The resource persons in the seminar were Chairperson of OSHE Ms. Saki, Rezwana, Executive Director A.R. Chowdhury Repon and the Director (coordination) of the OSHE Mr. Abdul Mukit Khan.
